Blue Grama Grass (Bouteloua gracilis) is a hardy, warm-season perennial grass native to the Rocky Mountains and Great Plains, natively found along the southern Wasatch Front. Known for its distinctive eyelash-shaped seed heads that appear in summer and persist into fall, this drought-tolerant grass thrives in well-drained, sandy, or rocky soils and adds graceful movement and texture to prairies, meadows, and xeriscapes. Its fine, blue-green foliage turns golden brown in the fall, providing winter interest.
