Mallow Ninebark (Physocarpus malvaceus) is a resilient native shrub that is both beautiful and ecologically beneficial. Its vase-shaped form, adorned with exfoliating bark that peels in thin strips, adds year-round visual interest. The maple-like leaves provide a lush green backdrop in spring and summer, transitioning to hues of yellow, orange, or deep red in the fall.
In late spring, clusters of small white flowers emerge, attracting a variety of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
