Parry’s Blanketflower (Gaillardia parryi) is a cheerful, mountain-native perennial that thrives in sunny, dry spots where many other plants struggle. With its golden daisy-like blooms and compact form, it’s a natural fit for rock gardens, slopes, and xeriscapes across Utah’s higher elevations. Its long bloom season and bright color add warmth to native plant mixes or wildflower borders.
This hardy little bloomer is both tough and beautiful—resistant to drought, deer, and common garden diseases. Once established, Gaillardia parryi asks for very little care but rewards you with months of pollinator activity from bees and butterflies. Its ability to handle poor soils and full sun makes it a reliable choice for low-water landscapes that still want a splash of color and native charm.
Grown from seed sourced at Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona.
