Twinberry Honeysuckle (Lonicera involucrata) is a hardy, mountain-adapted shrub that brings a distinctly wild, natural character to shaded or partially shaded landscapes. Its soft yellow flowers appear in late spring, tucked between showy reddish bracts that give the plant an unusual, almost ornamental look even before the berries arrive. As the season progresses, glossy black twin berries develop—visually striking and a favorite among birds.
Well-suited to higher elevations and cooler microclimates, Twinberry Honeysuckle thrives in spots that mimic its native habitat—think dappled light, consistent moisture, and protection from harsh afternoon sun. It’s an excellent choice for naturalized plantings, woodland edges, or habitat gardens where resilience and ecological value matter just as much as appearance.
