Cutleaf Pasque Flower

Cutleaf Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla patens) is a charming little native perennial that brings an early splash of color to the spring garden, often flowering when many other plants are only just beginning to wake up. Its finely divided, fern-like foliage and silky, bell-shaped purple flowers give it a delicate appearance, while its naturally compact growth makes it especially well suited to rock gardens, native plantings, and other sunny, well-drained spots.

Once established, Cutleaf Pasque Flower is wonderfully low-maintenance and well adapted to Utah’s dry climate. It doesn't need pampering or frequent watering, and its early flowers provide an important food source for pollinators emerging in spring. After flowering, the plant develops distinctive silky seed heads that add another interesting texture to the garden.
