Rocky Mountain Juniper ‘Moonglow’ (Juniperus scopulorum ‘Moonglow’) is a striking selection of our native Rocky Mountain Juniper, prized for its dense pyramidal form and luminous silver-blue foliage that holds its color year-round. The soft blue tone is brighter and more uniform than the wild species, giving landscapes a cool, elegant evergreen presence in every season.
Like the species, ‘Moonglow’ is exceptionally well adapted to the dry climates of the Intermountain West. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, tolerating drought, wind, and rocky conditions once established. Its upright habit makes it an excellent choice for privacy screens, windbreaks, or as a strong vertical accent in xeric and water-wise landscapes.
Durable, long-lived, and low-maintenance, ‘Moonglow’ offers the rugged resilience of a native conifer with a refined ornamental form—making it a dependable evergreen structure plant for western gardens.
